I just feel like people might be annoyed to see a long, virtually endless paragraph taking up their friends page, so I cut it for them. It's weird, because I don't mind seeing long uncut paragraphs on my own friends page...

Also, sometimes it might be too much personal stuff for some people to want to know or something, so it's a chance for them to skip without accidentally reading something they don't care about.

Basically, I'm neurotic about rules I don't actually mind if nobody else goes by. o0

Yeah, I don't get it. I mean, if something is image heavy I'll cut it for the last few hold-outs on dialup, but otherwise I don't usually bother.

I only really cut for batches of screencaps or photos, my pr0n drawings, and abnormally long entries that take up two or three Word document pages. *nods firmly* OH and movie/TV show spoilers.

I actually really prefer it when people leave at least part of their post uncut, so I can skim and see for myself if I want to read it. Chances are if what appears on my friends page is just a cut line, I'm just scrolling right by. Unless of course it's lots of graphics or spoilers.

I usually only cut for large/multiple graphics, spoilers, and anything that's intensely personal. Although sometimes that goes under friends-lock, uncut.

What drives me nuts is when someone goes to the trouble of posting a text cut and the ONLY thing underneath it is a link. WHAT THE HELL, PEOPLE. ONE OR THE OTHER.
