On a very enthusiastic recommendation from [livejournal.com profile] annlarimer we bought Dr. Terrible's House of Horrible on DVD and proclaim it utterly fantastic. Add it to the list of favorite shows so far including

The Mighty Boosh
Garth Marenghi's Darkplace
Cinematic Titanic

In a perfect world we'd all crumple and start embracing the B-movie DIY spirit, with wonky costumes, silly plots that make their own internal sense and a wonderful sense of whimsy. Oh, and no one feels compelled to torture any Muslims to save the planet. O THE CRUSHING WEIGHT OF RESPONSBILITEES, IT HUUURTS....

So, is Bush gone yet?

what about now?

Now?

How about now?

now?

It's funny as hell, particularly if you have even passing familiarity with old Hammer Horror movies and their conventions. Or Tales from the Darkside.

Any episode with the name Lesbian Vampire Lovers of Lust that stars Pussy Galore in it is OK in my book.

Ironically, I would totally torture Bush to save the planet.

Or, y'know, to kill a Sunday afternoon. Whatever.

I got my countdown clock here:

http://www.apple.com/downloads/dashboard/

I no longer remember what it's called, but I bet if you search for Bush widget, it'll pop up.

One day, four hours and six minutes to go!

So, is Bush gone yet?

Every time I see those Ron Clark Academy kids singing about Obama, it makes me cringe. (It's too much smiling-kids-singing-about-the-Dear-Leader for me.)

Still, dude, I WENT TO THE CONCERT AND SAT IN THE PRESS BOX AND IT WAS PRETTY AWESOME. Michelle Obama had the good sense to demand her family stand up for Stevie Wonder, and Bruce Springsteen had to good sense to share the spotlight with Pete Seeger for This Land is Your Land. (My favorite patriotic song!)

And I swear I saw Jack Bauer prowling on top of the Lincoln Memorial. For real. I'd rather see him than Jack Black or Jaime Foxx, anyway.

In their defense, it's hard not to be joyous that we only have 2 more days for Bush to do any more damage.

They are just a class act all around. And Pete Seeger! Wouldn't it be great if This Land Is Your Land suddenly became the new national anthem? It would definitely be a step up.

forgot to say...

I think that is so amazing! I can't even be jealous because I'm so happy for you. Will you get to do more stuff on Tuesday?
