It's not just a good idea, it's THE LAW!
Dec. 4th, 2008 07:30 pmOur library just got in a copy of the FBI's new coffee table book, THE FBI: A Centennial History, 1908-2008. It would be funnier if the FBI's past wasn't so heinous.
My favorite part?
"It has been claimed that Director Hoover held back evidence from prosecutors in the '60s or even tried to block prosecution. It's simply not true. His concern was to prevent leaks, not to stifle justice."
You guys are so like, MEAN and stuff, shyah!
However. Pictures! Including the shot of Patty Hearst as Tanya. But not a single one of Hoover in drag. Tsk. And a whole lot of "case files" in which the FBI failed to nab or foil one suspect after another. (See him? Didn't catch him. Got real close to him, though!) It was a fascinating 20 minutes.
Check it out today from a designated holder of government documents nearest you.
