"YOU ARE AN ENEMY OF THE EARTH!"
Feb. 11th, 2008 12:42 pmI got irrationally angry at this article in today's Chicago Tribune, No One Likes Nature Anymore, "enjoying nature" apparently defined by either a) visiting a national park or b) having a hunting or a fishing license.
Well, by that all-inclusive definition, I don't enjoy nature either. Perhaps Dawn Turner Trice has never experienced the allure of driving for hours to spend the night on a bare 9x12 patch of litter-strewn dirt next to a pile of noisy drunks, or whiled away the hours blowing apart quail with Dick Cheney.
Otoh, I have been known to enjoy a nice, relaxing walk in my local park. It's quite lovely. WHEN IT'S NOT -4 *&^$ing DEGREES OUTSIDE.
Jesus, people get squirrly around here.
