Jan. 28th, 2001 10:33 amWell, the super (toilet) bowl is going on this weekend, and seeing as i live only a 1/2 hour from Baltimore, i've got just two words to say about the whole matter: Go Giants!
heheh.
Actually, i could give a damn about either one, but the fact that people are going nuts about this stuff here is pretty damn funny. i'm willing to bet 1/2 of the people that are sporting Ravens flags on their car antennas never watched a football game before, but it's all right. Belonging to a team is all part of our monkey heritage. I do the same thing- the moment you put me on team A, i automatically think we're the coolest, smartest, bestest people on the planet and team B is nothing but a buncha nosepickers.
I do have an irresistible urge to burst into a bar and scream "Ravens SUUUUUCK!" just to see what kind of reaction i get. What can i say? My spiritual twin is Felicia from "The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert"- I like to see people get pissed off. But drunken pissed off people are another story, and i've got my own to write tonight, so i'll hold off on any shenanigans.
Another thing i think is cool about the Ravens going to the super bowl is that everything in Baltimore is taking on a lavender tone. On Friday i was driving past the Baltimore Sun building, and it was all lit up in purple lights. So was a tower thingy not too far away. I'm telling you, Baltimore is looking gayer by the second, and i couldn't be happier. Oh, if only the Ravens had a rainbow motif it'd be even better.
And i feel much better today, thank the gods. I was getting pretty sick of being so washed out all the time. Something about getting enough sleep for the first time in about a week works wonders.
Chickiebirds go peep peep... ;]
