I wore long underwear, boots and jeans, which was good because I was standing in the cold for several hours. (We had a Sbarro's-style stand-up booth where a communal laptop was placed.) I had a rotten view of the inaugural and not a much better one of the jumbo-tron. But, hey, I was there.

My favorite moment was the clarinet break to "Simple Gifts." It's so American, and I hope reflective of "the ground moved" from beneath the cynics. That goes for Republicans as well as Democrats. It's been pretty nasty on our side these last several months, and now that the other side is the loyal opposition, I hope we can take a cue from our president and be gracious, responsible winners.

I'm back in the office now, warming up. I'm thrilled the Obamas got out of their car. Cheers, cheers, cheers!
