Still haven't heard from Sam, but i'm sure he's fine. I'm sure of it. I couldn't get through to him-- the phones in DC are a nightmare. I hope wherever he is he's safe and happy and cuddling Dawn right now.
Just a thought...it would be a good idea for all of us to wait and see and not jump to conclusions over who has done this. I'm thinking back to Oklahoma City and how the speculation was that Muslims had done this for the first few hours, and how Muslim Americans were attacked in retaliation in the U.S., even though they themselves had done nothing.
Watch the news coverage closely. I've seen some pretty disturbing and xenophobic things while i had the sound off this evening. I know i'm freaking out too, but i'm trying to absorb little things and try to separate fact from speculation. it's hard, because i don't think a lot of news organizations know a lot right now either. Be careful of what you see is all i'm saying.
I'm worried that even if it turns out that people from Palestine are responsible, some of us will jump to the conclusion that all Palestinians will revel in this, and i can't believe that. I'm afraid some of us will hate a nation as a whole, and i don't want that. A refuse to believe an entire nation anywhere would be happy about today. If you are happy about this, then i really don't want to talk to you right now.
I'm thinking about all those people that died today and those who worked like mad to help rescue everyone else. I'm thinking about them a lot. I can't imagine what the next few days is going to be like for them as they work to try and find survivors. I'm thinking about them and trying to send them strength.
I just heard Dubya's speech, and at ease and secure is hardly what i'd describe. We need to unearth Clinton from the mothballs.
