Feb. 15th, 2001 10:03 pmQuiet night right now. ESOL class was ok. we went to the library and i got the new students set up with library cards and showed them 'round the place, and they seemed to like it. Lessons where we go to the library or the computer lab don't involve any lesson plans, but man they can be a logistical nightmare. At least i got the whole class there safe and sound. And I'm getting a volunteer next week too! Man oh man, have i needed one. I've been feeling guilty about shortchanging the class as it is with only me teaching 15 students at different learning levels.
And tonight marks the beginning of a four day weekend, which i really need, as i said before. Now i'm having a little bit of anxiety about which project to tackle first. Which story do i sit down and write on? Or do i read the book for the book club, or do i work on other projects?
It's nice to have projects like this. Your own inner life, i guess. I can't imagine just coming home from work, turning on the tv and sitting there passively until it's time for bed. Life's too short! Well, ok, some days it's nothing but tv watching, but not that many anymore.
Maybe i'll sleep on it tonight and think about what i want to jumpstart next. and call my girl after this to see how she's faring. No LJ from her today-- she must've been really busy.
